Bachelor party in Malaysia

An essential aspect of getting married is the stags night and hen's night (also known as bachelor and bachelorette party); usually this takes place a few weeks before the wedding. It is quite easy to organize a bachelor party in Malaysia, especially in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur you will have ample choice in activities and party venues. If you are staying in a hotel or resort outside the big cities, then you will have to think of things to do once you are there (don't worry, most of Malaysia's islands have ample attractions and activities).

Depending on what you want to do a typical bachelor party consists of a day time programma and an evening programme. During the day you can do all kinds a fun stuff, ranging from paintball, golfing, fishing, visiting the shooting range, quad/cart racing and bowling for the guys. The girls can enroll in a nice workshop, a shopping session and of course the popular spa treatment.

During the evenings you can start off with a nice dinner, preferably near one of KL's many party venues. For example Changkat Bukit Bintang is a popular area, or one of the party areas in PJ (just outside of Kuala Lumpur). It is not uncommon to book VIP areas in popular dance venues up front. The same goes for reserving part of a pub. If you are staying at a resort or hotel at one of the islands, then you are often limited to the hotel bar or a venue nearby the hotel. Don't forget you can always just organize your own private beach party. Just make sure you don't end up like those guys from the movie Hangover II and stay away from the shady places in Kuala Lumpur (like the whole Beach Club area). Strip clubs aren't that common in Malaysia, though it is possible to hire a stripper.

Besides Kuala Lumpur there are a few other areas where you can have a great bachelor party. Near Kuala Lumpur are the casinos of Genting Highland; a sure way to have a great night out. Islands like Penang and Langkawi also offers pubs, nightlife and beautiful beaches. Most other areas in Malaysia are fine for a pleasant drink, but offer no real party venues (unless you already know where to find them).
